From the archives, Nov. 10, 1928: Willie Ottogary reports muddy roads and the end of beet season at Washakie
The Journal's letter from the Northwestern Shoshone settlement also told of flu among neighbors and a planned boxing match in Malad.
On Nov. 10, 1928, The Journal in Logan ran Willie Ottogary's regular letter from Washakie, the Northwestern Shoshone farming settlement, reporting that a storm had left the roads too muddy to travel and that workers at the Garland sugar factory expected to finish the beet season within a week or so. He also wrote that flu was going around but no one had died, listed neighbors' trips to Tremonton and Logan, and noted a boxing match planned for Malad City, Idaho, on the night of Nov. 10 featuring Gen Custer Ottogary.
