From the archives, Nov. 3, 1928: Willie Ottogary writes from Washakie as winter nears
The Journal's regular letter from the Northwestern Shoshone settlement reported stormy weather and families coming home.
On Nov. 3, 1928, The Journal in Logan printed one of Willie Ottogary's regular letters from Washakie, the Northwestern Shoshone farming settlement, in which he wrote that a stormy day and overnight rain meant winter was on the way and that nearly everyone who had been away was coming home. He also passed along news of his neighbors, among them trips to Logan, Ogden and Brigham City, a young woman's marriage to a man from Fort Hall and a man whose eyesight was improving after he had nearly lost it that summer.
