Urbana council, committee to take up liquor licenses for Eighty Three Vietnamese, Soccer Planet and The Cosmo

URBANA - Liquor license requests from three Urbana businesses are on the city's Monday night agendas, according to the agendas and packets for the Oct. 19 City Council and Committee of the Whole meetings at 400 S. Vine St. None has been decided.

On the council's consent agenda, Resolution 2026-10-055R would add one Class R&T-1 restaurant and tavern license for Eighty Three Vietnamese Cuisine LLC, doing business as Eighty Three Vietnamese, at 201 N. Broadway Ave. Resolution 2026-10-056R would add one Class INC incubator license, a temporary license for business concepts that fit no existing class, for SP II LLC, doing business as Soccer Planet, at 2310 Willow Road. Both requests were first prepared for the Oct. 5 Committee of the Whole, the packet memos show.

The Committee of the Whole will consider Resolution 2026-10-059R, which would add one Class A license, for sales by the drink or package for on-site drinking, for The Cosmo Urbana LLC at 300 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 142.

If approved, the Eighty Three and Cosmo licenses would expire June 30, 2027, and Soccer Planet's on April 5, 2027, the memos say.
