Run to Remember and Pride Fest will close Urbana streets and detour MTD buses Saturday

URBANA - Two events on Saturday, Oct. 17, will close streets in Urbana and put several Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District routes on detours, according to reroute notices the district posted on its website.

For the Run to Remember, Broadway will be closed between Country Club and Park, Park between Broadway and Church, and Church between Park and Orchard from the start of bus service until about 11 a.m. Grey and Ruby buses will detour, and MTD lists seven stops as closed, mostly along Broadway and Kerr.

For Pride Fest downtown, Main Street will be closed between Springfield and Broadway, Race Street between Water and Elm, and Water Street between Vine and Broadway from about 9 a.m. to about 8 p.m. A parade is planned from roughly 1 to 2:30 p.m., with more closures on Broadway, Elm, Race and Illinois from about 12:30 p.m. Green, Grey, Ruby and Silver buses will reroute. During the parade, riders who usually board at Lincoln Square are directed to California and Broadway, or to Birch and Elm for Silver.

MTD customer service is at 217-384-8188.
