Manolo's Pizza & Empanadas on Oregon Avenue to close after Saturday, Smile Politely reports

URBANA - Music and performing arts students at the University of Illinois are losing a campus-area pizzeria. Manolo's Pizza & Empanadas, 1115 W. Oregon Ave., will close after Saturday, Oct. 17, according to Smile Politely. The School of Music lists its address as 1114 W. Nevada St., and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts is at 500 S. Goodwin Ave.

Owner Ian Goodberg told the Champaign-Urbana magazine, "Saturday, October 17 will be our last day of operation." As of Thursday, Manolo's website did not mention a closing.

Champaign County property records show the Raymond M. Timpone Trust sold the parcel to Hartman Properties LLC of Champaign on Dec. 18, 2025, for $3,000,000 (document 2026R00187). The county lists the parcel's site address as 708 S. Goodwin Ave.
