Rantoul board packet carries trades council's paid pre-apprenticeship, offered in Savoy and Danville
HIRE360 pays a $13-an-hour stipend while participants train for clean-energy construction jobs.
RANTOUL - A paid pre-apprenticeship for people interested in the skilled construction trades was on the Rantoul Village Board's Oct. 6 study session agenda, listed under items from the mayor, according to the board's packet.
The East Central Illinois Building & Trades Council's HIRE360 program pays a $13-an-hour stipend while participants take part, according to the council's flyer in the packet. Participants can earn Multi-Craft Core Curriculum, OSHA, CPR and first aid certifications, tour construction sites and get help with job applications, and the program offers financial assistance through a barrier reduction program.
The flyer says the program is available locally in Savoy and Danville and prepares participants for work in the clean-energy construction trades.
The packet does not list start dates, eligibility rules or how to apply beyond a QR code.
