Charles Industries to close Rantoul site Dec. 11, cutting 75 jobs, state notice says
The company cited a business slowdown in its WARN filing with the state.
RANTOUL - Charles Industries LLC plans to permanently close its site at 201 Shellhouse Drive in Rantoul, with 75 workers affected, according to the state's September 2026 WARN report.
The state received the company's notice on Sept. 16. The report lists Dec. 11 as both the first and final layoff date and gives "Business Slowdown" as the cause. It describes the company as a telephone manufacturer.
The report says the workers are not represented by a union and have no bumping rights.
