Baker council to vote Oct. 27 on scooter rules and a cable TV franchise

BAKER - The Baker City Council will vote Oct. 27 on an ordinance regulating electric low-speed scooters and on a cable television franchise for Eatel Video, LLC, which does business as Rev, according to the meeting agenda posted Oct. 22.

Ordinance 2026-30 would add a section to the city's code covering how electric low-speed scooters are operated, equipped and parked in Baker. Ordinance 2026-31 would grant the cable franchise. Both were introduced Oct. 13. The agenda does not include the text of either ordinance.

Under new business, the council will also set the date and time for Halloween in Baker.

The agenda says the public may comment before any vote, for up to three minutes per speaker on the item at hand. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 3325 Groom Road and will stream on the city's Baker Forward YouTube channel.
