Central council to consider debris removal and monitoring contracts Oct. 27
CENTRAL - The Central City Council will consider resolutions Oct. 27 authorizing the mayor to award contracts to CTC Disaster Response for debris removal and to Metric Consulting for debris monitoring, according to the council's agenda.
The agenda ties the contracts to requests for proposals 2026-002 and 2026-003 but does not list their cost or terms. Council members will also consider a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Central Cultural Foundation.
Zoning items include rezoning 11.81 acres at 16439 Greenwell Springs-Port Hudson Road from single-family residential to rural/agricultural, and an ordinance amending the city's development and zoning codes to consolidate and update its rules on nonconformities. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended both 4-0 on Sept. 24, with three members absent, the agenda shows.
The council may also meet in closed session to discuss strategy in JBS Companies and Holdings Inc. v. City of Central, case No. C-784450 in the 19th Judicial District Court.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Central City Hall, 11530 Sullivan Road.
