BATON ROUGE - Two people died Monday afternoon when a southbound car crossed lanes and struck a northbound vehicle in the 600 block of North Foster Drive, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department release. The crash happened about 2:49 p.m. Oct. 19, and the department's Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating.

The driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu traveling south in the right lane lost control, crossed the southbound lanes and hit a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander traveling north in the inside lane, police said. The Chevrolet's driver and its front-seat passenger, both 25, died at the scene.
