Suffield Repair Café: Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Suffield Senior Center, 145 Bridge St. Free repairs (parts extra); donations welcome. The last one of 2026, organizers say.
King House Fall Work Day: Saturday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to noon, Alexander King House Museum & Barn, 232 S. Main St. Help ready the house, barn and grounds for winter; bring gloves and work tools. Rain date Saturday, Oct. 24.

Friends of the Somers Library Book Sale: Somers Public Library, 2 Vision Blvd. Preview Friday, Oct. 16, 4 to 7 p.m. ($10; Friends members free). Open sale Saturday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday is half-price and fill-a-bag day ($12 new bag, $7 with a previously bought Friends bag).
