Tampa Museum of Art holds free sensory-friendly hours Sunday morning
TAMPA - The Tampa Museum of Art opens early for its free Art on the Spectrum sensory-friendly hours from 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, according to the museum's events calendar.
The museum describes the monthly session as a calm, low-crowd visit for people with sensory sensitivities or developmental differences and their caregivers. Visitors can borrow noise-canceling headphones and other sensory items at the front desk, the museum says.
The program is hosted with the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities at the University of South Florida, and the museum credits the Autism License Plate Fund and the Autism Services Grants Council for the free admission. The museum is at 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza. The series continues on the last Sunday of each month; the next date listed is Nov. 29.
