Waymo extends Bay Area robotaxi service south, adds Berryessa BART link
The company said it is adding nearly 250 square miles across five metro areas over the next week.
Waymo is expanding its driverless ride-hailing service farther south in the Bay Area, including a new connection at the Berryessa BART station, the company said in an Oct. 27 blog post.
The company said it is adding nearly 250 square miles of service territory over the next week across five metro areas: Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area. In the Bay Area, Waymo said it is "getting you to more areas in the south."
Elsewhere, the company said it is extending Los Angeles service to Torrance, adding La Jolla in San Diego and nearly doubling its coverage area in east Orlando. The post did not say how many square miles the Bay Area expansion adds or list the new South Bay neighborhoods. Waymo said riders can see the updated boundaries in its app and on its service area maps.
