Valkyries championship parade set for noon Wednesday in San Francisco, BART says
BART will run extra and longer trains for the Nov. 4 parade; the team says it will release details Sunday morning.
SAN FRANCISCO - The Golden State Valkyries' WNBA championship parade will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, at noon, according to BART, the Bay Area's regional train system. The team said parade details would be announced Sunday morning, Nov. 1.
BART said it will run extra trains and longer trains on parade day and add more staff and security.
The transit agency told riders to take BART to the Embarcadero or Montgomery stations and walk to the parade. Riders can also take BART to Powell Street, transfer to a southbound Muni T Third train to 4th and King, and walk to 2nd and King, BART said.
BART warned that parking at West Oakland station is very limited and fills up quickly, and it does not recommend parking there. Every Bay Area transit system takes tap-to-pay debit and credit cards and phone wallets, and each rider needs their own card or phone, the agency said.
The team has not yet posted the parade route. This story will be updated when the team or the city announces it.
