Self-driving truck company Aurora signs a deal for 500 trucks, but says production is running behind
The company, which has a Mountain View office, cut its 2026 revenue forecast to about $9 million.
Aurora Innovation, a self-driving truck company with an office in Mountain View, said in a shareholder letter filed Oct. 28 that a trucking company plans to buy and run 500 of its driverless trucks. Charger Logistics signed a preliminary agreement, called a memorandum of understanding, with deliveries expected in 2027 and 2028, starting between Dallas and Laredo, Texas.
Aurora said its trucks passed 500,000 commercial driverless miles in September.
Building the trucks is going slower than planned, about six weeks behind, Aurora said. It now expects about $9 million in revenue for 2026.
In the three months ending Sept. 30, Aurora reported $3 million in revenue and a net loss of $234 million. It said it has more than $1 billion in cash and short-term investments.
