Bill BL2026-1536 passed third reading Oct. 6; Mayor's Office outlines next steps.
NASHVILLE - The Metro Council passed an ordinance on small business incentive grants programs Oct. 6 on a 28-4 vote, according to the Council's meeting minutes. Bill BL2026-1536 amends Chapter 2.212 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws and passed on third reading.
In an Oct. 7 release, the Mayor's Office said the Council passed legislation creating a Legacy Business Program. The release said the Industrial Development Board would vote on rules Wednesday and that the application window is likely to open in early November and stay open at least 30 days. It said initial legacy-business grant recipients are likely to be notified in February 2027. The release described those dates as likely, not fixed.
The minutes give the bill's caption but do not name individual programs.
