Metro announces $40.2 million in Barnes housing awards to 14 nonprofits
Mayor's Office says the round would support 1,106 affordable homes.
NASHVILLE - Metro is poised to grant $40.2 million to 14 nonprofit organizations in Round 16 of the Barnes Housing Trust Fund, according to an Oct. 6 Mayor's Office release. The release says the awards would support 1,106 affordable homes and calls it the largest single round in Metro history; those are the release's claims.
The Metro Housing Trust Fund Commission initially approved the awards July 28, the release says. The release says every award contract needs approval by resolution and expects those approvals to be complete by the end of November.
Awards include owner-occupied and rental rehabilitation, and new-construction homeownership and rental, per the release. Rental projects must serve households at or below 60% of area median income and homebuyer projects 80%.
