Belmont volleyball brings four-match win streak home for Drake, UIC
The Bruins, 9-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference, play Friday and Saturday at Curb Event Center.
NASHVILLE - Belmont volleyball hosts Drake at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, and UIC at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Curb Event Center, according to a Belmont Athletics release. The Bruins enter the weekend 12-9 overall and 9-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference, second in the league standings behind UNI, the release says.
Belmont has won four straight, including a three-set sweep Sunday at Illinois State that was the program's first win over the Redbirds. The school says the 9-1 mark is the best start to conference play in program history. Friday is Belmont's first meeting with Drake this season; the Bruins swept UIC earlier this season for the program's first win over the Flames.
Sophomore middle blocker Erin McMullen was named MVC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 26 and leads the league with a.397 hitting percentage, according to the release. Senior Brenna Kauffeld leads the team with 230 kills. Saturday's match streams on ESPN+.
