NASHVILLE - Vanderbilt true freshmen Jared Curtis and Mason Lewis were named to On3's Midseason True Freshman All-American Team on Wednesday, Oct. 21, according to a Vanderbilt Athletics release.
Curtis, a Dickson, Tennessee, native, has completed 101 of 161 passes for 1,242 yards, the fifth-most passing yards by a true freshman in program history, the release says. He has accounted for eight touchdowns, six passing and two rushing, and has run for 144 yards. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week earlier this season.
Lewis, of Queen Creek, Arizona, has 34 tackles and is tied for second on the team with four pass breakups through seven games. The release says his Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 84.5 leads all SEC freshmen.
