Vanderbilt University Hospital named 'Best Hospital' in Nashville Scene readers' poll

NASHVILLE - Vanderbilt Health says readers of the Nashville Scene named Vanderbilt University Hospital the city's "Best Hospital" for the seventh consecutive year in the newspaper's Best of Nashville Readers' Poll, according to a Vanderbilt University Medical Center news release dated Oct. 9.

The release says the hospital was also voted the "Best Place to Have a Baby," Vanderbilt Orthopaedics was named "Best Orthopedic Group," and the Vanderbilt Birth Center took second place for "Best OB/Gyn."

Citing the Scene, the release says the poll has run for more than 38 years and is tabulated from hundreds of thousands of readers' votes each year. The release does not say how many votes were cast in the health care categories. The poll is a reader vote and not a measure of clinical quality.
