LOGAN - Top-seeded Ridgeline hosts No. 8 Highland at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the UHSAA 4A football quarterfinals, according to the UHSAA 4A bracket, which the association links from its football page.

Ridgeline reached the quarterfinals with a 45-0 first-round win over No. 16 Mountain View on Oct. 30. Highland advanced by beating No. 9 Bear River 70-42, the bracket shows.

Two other Cache County teams were eliminated that night. No. 13 Sky View lost 16-13 at No. 4 Snow Canyon, and No. 10 Mountain Crest fell 29-27 at No. 7 Salem Hills.

Quarterfinals are at the higher seed's home field. Semifinals are Nov. 12 and 13 and the 4A championship is Nov. 20, all at Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah. Ridgeline's athletics calendar lists the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship.

The National Weather Service forecasts a mostly clear Friday night with a low around 32 for Logan.

Why this matters

Ridgeline is the county's last team left in the 4A football playoffs; a win tonight keeps the Riverhawks alive for a Rice-Eccles Stadium semifinal next week.
