Norman budget documents earn GFOA award for 36th consecutive year
NORMAN - Norman received the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 36th consecutive year, according to a Nov. 3 city news release. The city was notified of the award on Nov. 2 for its fiscal year ending 2027 budget documents.
GFOA, based in Chicago, rates budgets as policy documents, financial plans, operations guides and communications devices, including 14 mandatory criteria. The city said a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was presented to the Norman Finance Department. GFOA says more than 1,900 governments take part in the Budget Awards Program.
Budget Manager Jamie Vaughn said, "Receiving this recognition for the 36th consecutive year speaks to the dedication and hard work of our Finance Department."
