Illinois women's basketball beats UIS 88-44 in exhibition opener

CHAMPAIGN - Illinois women's basketball beat UIS 88-44 in an exhibition Friday night at State Farm Center, according to the official box score posted by Illinois Athletics. It was the team's first game of the 2026-27 season.

Illinois led 25-11 after the first quarter and 54-22 at halftime, then took a 72-34 lead into the fourth quarter, the box score shows. The Illini shot 31 of 66 from the field and 23 of 31 from the free-throw line, outrebounded UIS 49-28 and had 14 steals. UIS committed 27 turnovers.

Gretchen Dolan and Aaliyah Guyton each scored 14 points to lead Illinois. Guyton made all five of her shots from the field and all four free throws and had seven assists. Maddie Webber and Manuella Alves added 11 points each, and Alves had four steals. Berry Wallace had five steals, and Cearah Parchment had nine points and nine rebounds. Attendance was 4,301, the athletics department said.

Illinois opens the regular season against Detroit Mercy at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at State Farm Center, according to the team's schedule.
