Illinois volleyball sweeps Rutgers to finish road swing

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Illinois swept Rutgers 25-23, 25-14, 25-22 on Saturday at Jersey Mike's Arena, according to the official box score, a night after a five-set win at Maryland. The Illini improved to 14-7 overall and 6-4 in the Big Ten; Rutgers fell to 10-12 and 1-9.
Alyssa Aguayo led Illinois with 13 kills on.464 hitting, Paityn Chapman added 11 kills and Taylor de Boer had 10. Kenna Phelan set 35 assists, Kristina Starostenko had four blocks, Maya Harris served three aces and Talita Goncalves led with 12 digs. Illinois hit.336 as a team to Rutgers'.204, the box score shows.
Illinois returns to Huff Hall to host Northwestern on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network, according to the team's official schedule.
