La Casa Cultural Latina and SHPE's Carrera de los Muertos 5K was set for Sunday morning in Urbana

URBANA - La Casa Cultural Latina and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers scheduled the annual Carrera de los Muertos 5K for Sunday morning, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at La Casa, 1203 W. Nevada St., Urbana, according to the University of Illinois events calendar.

The listing invited people to run or walk the race, or to come to La Casa to cheer and join activities. It says proceeds benefit Immigrant Services of Champaign-Urbana.

A Halloween costume contest was set to follow the race, with prizes for the top costumes and for race finishers, according to the listing. The calendar does not post results, turnout or the amount raised.
