Forest Preserve District's Whiskey Hike returns to Buffalo Trace Oct. 18

MAHOMET - The Champaign County Forest Preserve District will hold its third annual Whiskey Hike from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Buffalo Trace in Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, according to the district's events page.

Hikers will find whiskey tastings from Watsons Shack & Rail along the trail, the district says. Proceeds go to the Forest Preserve Friends Foundation for district conservation, education and recreation work, including the new Nature Center at Homer Lake.

Tickets are $55 online, with $5 off each ticket when buying more than one, or $65 at the door. Online sales close at midnight Oct. 17. Children may come at no cost; buyers are asked to say how many guests under 21 are in their group.
