Boise schools seek input on 2027–28 start-time proposal
Survey on later secondary and earlier elementary schedules closes Dec. 4; board has not made a final decision.
BOISE - Boise School District is asking families, students, staff and community members for feedback on proposed school schedule changes that would begin in the 2027–2028 school year, according to a Nov. 5 district news post.
Under the proposal, secondary students would start and end school later, while elementary students would start and end earlier. The district says the School Start Time Survey includes current and proposed schedules, background information, and potential benefits and challenges, and asks respondents to review those details before saying whether they support the proposal.
The online survey closes at 5 p.m. Mountain Time on Dec. 4, 2026. Results are to be shared with the Board of Trustees at its December or January meeting to help inform a final decision; the district says no final decision has been made.
